60th Anniversary Reunion Weekend

Mark your calendars and book your flights! The Mendicants’ 60th Anniversary Reunion Weekend will be April 19-21, 2024, with the reunion concert at Dinkelspiel Auditorium on Saturday, April 20.

If anyone has been thinking about attending but still hasn’t registered, there’s still time and we’d love to see you there. Please complete this form and follow the information within to pay either via PayPal or check. (Suggested donation is $150, but you may pay whatever is comfortable; we just want you to attend if you’re able. And any contribution more than $150 is tax-deductible).

Clusters

We have organized the performance clusters by era for the 60th Reunion Concert coming up on Saturday, April 20th. Please consult this list to see in which era you have been placed. While thought has been put into era assignments, please let us know if you have strong feelings and would like to move to a different cluster.

Alumni highlighted in blue are people who indicated in their registration that they were musical directors/pitch pipes while they were in the group. These alumni have been asked to reach out after this message to begin preparations for the show, including song selections, dress code and a designated member to introduce the group. Thank you in advance for your prompt responses to their outreach to keep the preparations moving as efficiently as possible.

Groups will perform in reverse order by era, starting with the most recent alumni and concluding with the Founding Fathers. The show will conclude with all alumni performing the “Stanford Hym” and “Delia.” Digital copies of these arrangements will be sent before the reunion. Please bookmark this page as we will continue to update it with information as the logistics come together. There will be more details about hotel blocks, event times and locations, and our travel reimbursement fund for anyone who would struggle to attend reunion due to financial constraints.

Sign Up to Help Out - Volunteer Requests Including for guests not performing

To help spread the work of pulling off the reunion we have created a sign-up list with tasks throughout the weekend. Folks signed up for a specific task will be connected with a point person who will know the plan for that task. Please note we particularly need some people to help out with ticketing and ushering who are NOT performing in the show. If you have a friend or family member who would be willing to help out (perhaps re-living the good old days when they did this while you were in the group! ) please consider asking them to help. In addition, we will need support with stage managers during the show. Please let us know if you have a good candidate for that task.

Reserve Tickets - Unlimited Tickets for Family and Friends

Given the remaining tickets available, we are now able to offer unlimited ticket reservations for all alumni. Please complete this form to reserve tickets for family and friends. Tickets are free for family of Mendicant alumni up to 8 reservations and there is a suggested donation of $5 for ‘family and friends’ reservations beyond 8, as well as for all tickets for other guests. Alumni who reserved tickets through the Google form will receive a message next week confirming the number of tickets and names associated. Doors will open for family and friends at 6:00pm and guests just need to share their name at the lobby to enter.

Updated Version of Delia

A huge thank you to David Getty (‘62-’65) for taking the time to put together an updated score for Delia! The hope is that this version will be more clear and easy to read - we will use this version for the reunion show. In addition, you can consult these MP3 and MIDI files for preparation.

Accommodations - Room Block at the Stanford Guest House

We have coordinated with Stanford to reserve a block of rooms for 4/19-21 at the Stanford Guest House which offers comfortable (perhaps not luxurious) accommodations close to campus at a very reasonable rate. Reservations have closed as of March 18.

Reunion Travel Fund

We are excited to share that for the first time we will have a reunion travel fund. The Reunion Travel Fund was created to defray travel and housing costs for any Mendicant alums who would otherwise not be able to attend reunion. At this time applications for travel funds have closed, but there may still be funds available so please express interest if you would like to request support.
